California Has Lowest Coronavirus Cases

After Months of Coronavirus explosion sickened hundreds and thousands of people which left thousands dead and pushed hospitals to their breaking point. The federal figures show that  virus case rate is now the lowest of any state in the nation.According to data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention latest seven-day rate of new cases was 32.5 per 100,000 people.  Hawaii had the second-lowest rate, at 36.8, and the nationwide rate was 114.7.

California for weeks reported one of the lowest case rates in the nation though the top spot had remained largely out of reach. Over the last week, has reported an average of 1,901 new cases per day, a 34% decrease from two weeks ago.On Sunday, 1,730 patients were hospitalized with Coronavirus in California. Nearly 403 of them were admitted to intensive care. Both those figures are among the lowest ever recorded during the pandemic. Officials hope more vaccinations will continue to keep  case rates low.

According to Monday’s end-of-day totals on California public health websites, there were 2,943 new cases of the Coronavirus reported in the state, bringing the total number of cases so far to 3,708,149. According to the  Department of Public Health, 28.1 million vaccine doses have been administered in the state and 28.8% of residents are now fully vaccinated.

At a panel discussion hosted by the Sacramento Press Club, Dr Mark Ghaly, the Health and Human Services secretary, said that he expected there would be enough California and Americans vaccinated by October that the risk of contracting the virus would be dramatically lower. Many people prefer dining outdoors at restaurants instead of indoors, keep their social circles small and continue to wear a mask in settings where they’re unsure of others’ vaccination status.
